In de droger komt de hele familie samen, zelfs de kat. Huid, haar en kleur vermengen zich daar tot een bijna banaal restmateriaal, dat tegelijk verrassend rijk blijkt aan structuur en nuance. De gefotografeerde beelden zijn ontstaan na meerdere droogcycli, waarin kleurtonen zich toevallig hebben opgebouwd. Juist deze onverwachte rijkdom vormde de aanleiding voor Minimalistic Family DNA. Het werk beweegt zich tussen intimiteit en abstractie, en roept associaties op met het minimalisme en de verstilde materialiteit van kunstenaars als Wolfgang Laib, Mark Rothko, Barnett Newman, Donald Judd, Lucio Fontana en andere ZERO-kunstenaars

It almost does not become banal as material and yet it is so rich in structure and color. The pictured photos are the result of several drying cycles in which the color shades have been created by chance. This inspired the Minimalistic Family DNA. Inspiration from artists like Wolfgang Laib, Mark Rothko, Barnet Newman, Donald Judd, Lucio Fontana and other Zero artists and minimalists.
