It was mid-August and there are now almost 22 million infections worldwide. COVID-19 is a real pandemic. We thought we had pushed back the virus. The lock-downs were softens or eliminated and the summer holidays began. We have now left the house with the skylights. The house has been sold and new people experience the light coming in every day. The house will make way for other houses. And she who lived there for over 50 years and had to move, her light has gone out.
After the peace and quiet outside and the environment that could flourish due to the absence of humans, the hustle and bustle is back. Man takes up space again. But the virus was not gone, nor was it ever gone.
In some places there has been a second wave and lock-downs are taking place again.
This virus is not going to leave us anymore and the more we learn about it the worse it turns out to be.
Life after the holidays is about to start again. Uncertainty about what to expect is the only certainty.
We thought there was light but stepped back into the darkness.
When do we learn what is really important, what is good for the planet and when do we really step into the light ...
DAKLICHT NUL 2
Het is half augustus geweest en wereldwijd zijn er inmiddels bijna 22 miljoen besmettingen. COVID-19 is een ware pandemie. We dachten dat we het virus hadden terug gedrongen. De lock-downs werden versoepelt of opgeheven en de zomervakantie kon beginnen. Inmiddels is het huis met de daklichten door ons verlaten. Het huis is verkocht en nieuwe mensen ervaren dagelijks het licht dat binnenkomt. Het huis gaat plaats maken voor andere woningen. En zij die er ruim 50 jaar woonde en moest verhuizen, haar licht is inmiddels gedoofd.
Na de rust buiten en het milieu dat kon floreren door afwezigheid van de mens, is de drukte weer terug. De mens neemt de ruimte weer in. Maar het virus was niet weg en ook nooit weggeweest.
Op sommige plekken is er een tweede golf gekomen en opnieuw vinden er lock-downs plaats.
Dit virus gaat ons niet meer verlaten en hoe meer we er over komen te weten hoe erger het blijkt te zijn. Het leven na de vakanties gaat weer beginnen. Onzekerheid over wat ons staat te wachten is de enige zekerheid. We dachten dat er licht was maar stappen toch weer de duisternis in.
