Berlin is known for its many hidden courtyards, courtyards and alleys that offer a glimpse of the city's rich history and architecture.

During our trip to Berlin from April 27 to May 3, we came across a number of these beautiful courtyards. In this series of photos, one gets an impression of these Berlin iconic spots.

One of the most famous courtyards in Berlin is the Hackesche Höfe, a complex of eight interconnected courtyards with stores, restaurants, cafes and cultural institutions. It is a popular spot among tourists and locals alike.

Other courtyards worth visiting include the Kastanienhof, the Rosenhöfe, the Sophienhöfe and the Heckmannhöfe. Each of these hofjes has its own unique charm and history
